Eternal Bliss in Heaven or Eternal Torment in Hell?

We all have heard about Heaven and about Hell. The question we may ask ourselves is that why do some people choose Hell after seeing its disadvantages and torment. In this article, we would be looking at Heaven and Hell in details. We will see the advantages Heaven has to offer and the torment that Hell has to offer. Then in the end we would be given the opportunity to choose where we want to belong. As for me, I want to belong to the winning side; that’s the side of Jesus Christ and that is HEAVEN. Heaven:
Wao!!!! What an awesome sight to behold! From its name you can tell it’s a beautiful place to be. Heaven in simple terms is a place of Light. It is a place of Gold. It is where God dwells. His Angels, The 24 Elders, The Saints of old and all who believe in Jesus Christ dwell there. Heaven is a place prepared for those who make good use of the opportunity to surrender to Jesus Christ while on Earth. It is for those who dedicated their life, time, money, resources to serving God and moving His Kingdom forward. Heaven is a place of Peace. It is a place of Joy and Love. There is no weeping or mourning in Heaven. There is no sadness in Heaven. There is no Darkness in Heaven. It is a place of Light. God’s Glory gives Heaven its Light. Heaven is made up of Beautiful mansions specially prepared by Jesus Christ for the saints (John 14:1–3). Heaven is filled with Righteousness and Holiness. There is NO Sin in Heaven. The Angels and Saints of God sing to honour God in Heaven. The streets of Heaven are made of pure, transparent Gold. It is indeed a place anyone would love to belong. Would you like to be there? Surely I know you would love to! This bring us to the next point.
How can I make it to Heaven?
This seems to us as ambiguous or impossible. I tell you it is very possible. The Devil sometimes brings thoughts to our minds to discourage us. He may tell you that you are a sinner and God will never forgive you. That’s a big lie. Jesus Christ died for you. He died to save you from that sin the Devil is reminding you of. You will be set free when you confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. That is the First Qualification to make it to Heaven. You have to be genuinely saved. You have to Believe in Jesus Christ with your Heart and Confess Him as your Lord and Saviour with your Mouth. (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). It is not God’s will for you to perish in Hell. That is why He is offering you this free Gift of Salvation. The Second Qualification for you to make it to Heaven is Holiness and Righteousness. Let these two words keep ringing in your mind. They are important in Heaven. God is a Holy and Righteous God so we just have to be Holy and Righteous as His Children. We can achieve this by desiring it. We are to make conscious efforts to stay away from any appearance of sin (1 Thessalonians 5:22). We are to be Holy as God is Holy (1 Peter 1:16). Without Holiness, no man can see God (Hebrews 12:14). You can notice I didn’t make up all these but it is clearly stated in the Bible. God therefore expects Holiness and Righteousness from us. May God give us Grace in Jesus’ name!
Hell:
Hell is a place of torment. Hell is as ugly as the Devil. There is nothing good about the Devil, therefore there is nothing good about Hell. Hell is characterized for suffering, torment, weeping, sadness, thirst, pain, hurt and all forms of bad things. Hell is a place of Darkness. Hell is a place where sinners spend their eternity. All those who don’t surrender to the saving Grace of Jesus Christ end up spending eternity in Hell (Mark 16:16). It is not God’s desire that any of us should perish in Hell. That is why He has given us His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that if we believe in Jesus Christ, we would not perish in Hell but have eternal life in Heaven (John 3:16). The Devil knows this that is why he makes every effort to come after us so that we don’t make it to Heaven. He wants his kingdom populated with sinners. We are to strive not to join the Devil in Hell because I can tell you that it’s not a pretty experience. Ask The Rich man in the Bible who treated Lazarus badly and ended up in Hell, He will tell you that it is a terrible experience in Hell. It was so bad that the Rich man was begging Abraham to allow Lazarus dip his finger in water and put a drop of the water in his tongue. That’s how bad Hell fire is (Luke 16:24). Hell is characterized by tormenting Fire for eternity. I believe it is a scary place and it’s not a place you will want to find yourself. So let us now know the things we would do that will take us to Hell. I’ll state that below.
What would I do that will make me end up in Hell?
SIN is the major thing that make us go to Hell. God cannot behold SIN. So if sin is present in your life in anyway, you just have to pray it out. If one dies in his/her SIN, such a one would not be able to get to Heaven because there is no SIN in Heaven. The Devil will always want to make us fall into Sin because he needs more candidates in Hell. We will not be his candidate in Jesus’ name. The deceit of the Devil also makes us go to Hell. When the Devil lies to you that he can give you riches, money, fame etc and you believe him, he ends up destroying you. Many people join secret cults, use charms, become witches or wizards all in the quest for money. That is why the Bible is clear that the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). We are not to hold unto money as if our lives depend on it. Money is meant to be a servant to us. We are not meant to be servants to money. We are to be wise. The Devil tried to tempt Jesus Christ with money, fame and power but Jesus knew His authority and resisted the Devil and the Devil ran away (Matthew 4:8–10). If you accept the Devil’s lies, you are selling your soul to him. Focus on Jesus Christ and resist the Devil so you won’t end up in Hell.
What is your Decision?
If you have read this article and you have decided in your heart that you want to surrender your life to Jesus Christ or you want to rededicate your life to Him so that you won’t suffer the torment of Hell and so that you will make it to Heaven in the end, say this prayer with me: “Lord Jesus, I come to you today. Please forgive me of all my Sins. Please write my name in the book of life. Help me not to go back to my sins. Let me serve you genuinely for the rest of my life. When you come for the saints, let me be among the number. In Jesus’ name I have prayed! AMEN!” I say a Big AMEN with you. Congratulations for joining the Family of God.
